Velumount is a CE registered medical device which complies with current European health and safety standards. It was recently introduced into South Africa after searching for a simple, non-electrical device that could potentially aleviate snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).
Arthur Wyss, the inventor, spent many years developing and testing the Velumount at the University of Bern in Switzerland. This device successfully prevents snoring which develops in the area of the soft palate. The Velumount comfortably and gently opens the airways, preventing obstructions in the middle and upper throat area. This substantially reduces and even eliminates snoring and mild to moderate OSA. There are currently more than 20 000 world-wide users of the Velumount device.
